We encourage people to look at birds – after all our name is the Bird Observers Club of Australia. Many people like to come birding on a BOCA activity, which gives you the chance to go out with fellow birders for a friendly and sociable activity at which you will probably learn something new about birds or the local area, make new friends and maybe even see some new birds! Whilst you are travelling around Australia you may wish to contact our branches who can often help you with information about the latest local sightings and updates on good places to bird.
If you wish to go birding by yourself or with some friends then you may find the list of “Where To Bird” places prepared by our branches to be useful, along with our range of books and CDs for the region you are visiting. The Bird Observer contains advertisements for 3rd party tours and accommodation which you may find helpful in planning your own birding activities.. However, BOCA relies on the integrity of the advertisers for the quality and nature of their services and does not necessarily endorse the services advertised.
Whatever you do, BOCA requires you to adhere to BOCA’s Code of Ethical Birding as, at all times, the birds come first.
